In New York, there are myriads of lights down the street, even a little smoke from a storage house. Then: lights from an array of firetrucks are visually relentless in the dark, making one want to stop and stare, but I’d be ashamed of this behavior. Better to light a cigarette and keep walking.

The first thing I did this year was to send a letter to the White House by email. These days you can send emails to the President. The letter addressed to Barack Obama includes a recipe for remembering one’s dreams that I found by googling “recipe for remembering your dreams.” It can be fun to be active politically, I recommend it. Oh, the life of a dreamer in LA.. .Here, as Aerial Pink suggests, “the weather is your boyfriend”. I have been living a serious romance with both the weather and the views.Why must all good things come to an end? Back to NY on Friday then Paris on Wednesday. Looking forward to seeing you all that are there…
